Money market funds - definition of term
Money Market Funds are mutual funds that invest in short term money market instruments such as treasury bills, repos and bank certificates of deposit. MMFs in the US have been designed to maintain principal and have a share value always equal to one dollar. Interest income is automatically used to buy additional shares of the fund.
