OVERVIEW:
Interactive, intermediate-level course providing an in-depth examination of the salient characteristics of hedge funds and the trading strategies they employ.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
This course will explain what hedge funds are, the different types of funds, who invests in them and why.
The various hedge fund styles will be covered briefly with case studies and exercises to reinforce the principal trading concepts.
The key legal, tax, regulatory and accounting issues affecting hedge funds will be covered together with the elements essential to effective hedge fund administration.
Other sessions will cover risk management, fund performance analysis, manager selection, due diligence (quantitative, qualitative and operational), asset allocation, portfolio management, benchmarks, and the marketing of hedge funds.
An overriding theme of the course will be 'perceptions versus reality'.
