Deutsche Börse cash markets post EUR 117.7 billion turnover

Order book turnover on Deutsche Börse cash markets totalled EUR 117.7 billion in September (September 2016: EUR 109.1 billion). Of the EUR 117.7 billion, EUR 107.3 billion were attributable to Xetra (September 2016: EUR 100.8 billion) and EUR 3.4 billion to Börse Frankfurt (September 2016: EUR 3.3 billion). Order book turnover on Tradegate Exchange totalled EUR 7.0 billion (September 2016: EUR 5.0 billion).

The average daily turnover on Xetra stood at EUR 5.1 billion (September 2016: 4.6 million). Viewed by transactions, a total of 17.3 million trades were executed on Xetra in September (September 2016: 20.0 million).

Broken down by asset classes, cash market turnover in equities reached about EUR 105.0 billion. Turnover in exchange-traded instruments amounted to EUR 11.2 billion. Turnover in bonds was EUR 0.39 billion, in structured products EUR 1.0 billion and in funds EUR 0.13 billion.

The DAX security with the highest turnover on Xetra in September was Siemens AG at EUR 5.2 billion. Covestro AG led the MDAX equities with EUR 1.1 billion, while Klöckner & Co SE topped the SDAX equity index with EUR 161 million, and Wirecard AG headed TecDAX with EUR 549 million. The ETF with the highest turnover on Xetra was iShares Core DAX UCITS ETF with EUR 2.0 billion.

On the electronic trading platform Eurex Bonds, a volume of EUR 4.0 billion was traded, mainly in government bonds (September 2016: EUR 6.8 billion).
