This intensive 3-day hands-on course will provide a state-of –the art presentation of project finance, and the application of project and structured finance to the rapidly growing sector of renewable energy. This course will:
* Provide an overview of the current state of project finance
* Show participants how to use project and structured finance to implement projects
* Show participants how to create “bankable” projects that can attract financing
* Show participants how to access and use financing and risk mitigation mechanisms from international financial institutions, such as the World Bank Group, and export credit agencies
* Show participants how to use Islamic finance mechanisms to finance projects
* Show participants how to use risk mitigation mechanisms to address the challenges of off-taker creditworthiness, breach of contract, and foreign exchange rate risk
* Provide an overview of solar, wind, and biofuels sectors, and show participants how to finance projects in these rapidly growing sectors
* Use actual international case studies, including those from Harvard Business School, to illustrate the concepts covered in the course
